Never enough time to live your dream: In the life of this author I can say yes, and yes again. Being fruitful, using the scattered bursts of time available to sit behind my computer these days, is fast becoming a frustrated effort. This is crazy. I’m retired, right? You probably have a similar problem. Is there something you love to do but can’t seem to find the time or energy to accomplish it?
1. Procrastination could be a problem.
We all say no, not me! One example: When is the last time you left the dishes dirty in the sink overnight because you just didn’t feel like doing them and reasoned that they’d still be there tomorrow? Of course they are... no dish-fairy visits in the wee hours of the night. And now, when the new day dawns, this is just one more job on your list of things to do. Discouragement from the get-go that sets a negative patttern to the new day.
Dishes may not be your problem but examine your patterns and see if procrastination in some form, causes you needless frustration.
2. Overwhelmed could be a problem.
I can say a resounding yes here. There are so many facets to writing and publishing that it is easy to become overwhemed. Just visiting my info-emails and social media gobbles my time. My brain is siwmming with ideas and possibities but they all tend to get lost in the shuffle and do not serve my purpose and passion to write. You probably also have a passion burning within you, but because of the circumstances in your life or brain-overload none of them see the light of day. Multi-tasking is not always the most productive way to function if you want to keep your sanity.
Decide your priorities, seek out the few things that will help develop your vision and get rid of the rest... or at the very least, separate them and deal with them at another time in your day.
3. Priorities could be a problem.
I’m a huge believer that we work best when we’ve defined the now- season of our life and choose to base our priorities around that. Just like careers have more than one life these days, so does our time here on earth. God does not use me in ministry today the same way he did years ago. Visions and dreams change. But, there is always a plan, and when you discover yours for this season, prioritize around it and function in the freedom that God planned for you.
Freedom: That’s where we all hope to live. Beyond the clutter and million voices calling from all directions; beyond man’s expectations and positioned clearly and productively in the place where we are meant to be, today.
Find rest in that place and move forward with your dream. Have a blessed day, Marlene.
